Preheat oven to 450F. Stir flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together.
Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture has the consistency of course cornmeal.
Beat eggs until light, (reserving 2 tsp. to brush over top of scones)
Stir in milk.
In the dry ingredients make a well in the centre, add liquid slowly to make a soft dough.
When all liquid has been added, stir dough rather vigorously until it comes freely from the side of bowl.
Pat to 3/4" thickness, cut in squares or triangles.
Brush over with egg & sprinkle with sugar.
Bake on a well greased cookie sheet in oven for 12-15 minutes. These scones may brown quickly on bottom.
