Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers

- 4 sweet peppers, halved and cored
- 2 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 ½ lb. top sirloin steak, thinly sliced and marinated
- 8 mushrooms, chopped and sauteed in butter and garlic
- 8 slices stronger cheddar cheese (provolone)
- 4 generous dollops of cheese whiz.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to broil and move the rack to top level
- Place pepper halves on baking sheet and broil 5 - 7 minutes, then flip for another 5 - 7 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute onions and green peppers in oil 5-7 minutes, until soft. Remove from pan.
- In the same pan, saute steak slices until they are fully cooked.
- Add in the pepper mixture.
- Top with provolone slices and mix in as they melt.
- Fill each pepper half with mixture. Top with cheese whiz.
